Wednesday, March 6, Pawlet Select Board annual organizational meeting, 7 PM, Town Hall: This includes the swearing in of newly elected officials, annual appointments, appointment of a planning commission member and appointment of a 2nd alternate to the Development Review Board.

Mettawee Mania 2013, A Talent Extravaganza, Saturday, March 9, 7 PM: Tickets are on sale at the Mettawee Community School. Adults $7; Seniors and Students $5; 3 & under – Free. For more information, call 802-645-9009 during school hours 8 AM – 3 PM. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the night of the show. The PTO will hold a food drive for the Pawlet and Rupert Food Pantries the night of Mettawee Mania. For every non-perishable food item brought in (not expired) the donor will receive a free raffle ticket for entry into drawing for a Kindle Fire HD 16GB Tablet. There is no limit to the number of items one person may donate. The Kindle Fire has been made possible through a generous donation made by Newmont Slate Co., Inc. of West Pawlet, VT. Doors will open at 6 PM on Saturday, March 9. Folks bringing food items that wish to buy additional raffle tickets, or audience members without food items, will be able to do so. Raffle tickets are 6 for $5, or 1 for $1 and all raffle ticket proceeds will go to the Pawlet and Rupert Food Pantries.

Emergency Fuel Assistance Fund in Pawlet needs donations: The federal government cut its fuel assistance to the states last year, and that cut remains in effect this year. This means that residents of Pawlet who qualify may not get enough assistance to get through the winter. Our local fund meets emergency situations on the spot. Donations should be made out to: “Pawlet Community Church Fuel Assistance Fund” and mailed to: Pawlet Fuel Assistance Fund, C/O Tim Bryant, 3449 Vt. Rt. 133, Pawlet, VT 05761. Sunday, March 31, Second Annual Easter Brunch at Consider Bardwell Farm, Rte 153, West Pawlet, to benefit Town Hall Restoration Project, 11 AM – 2 PM: Food and fun for all ages, including brunch, egg hunt, bunny hop, petting baby goats, gift baskets and more. Tickets available at Lakes Lampshades in Pawlet Village and from Angela Miller at the West Pawlet Farmers Market on Fridays from 4-7 PM. Adults: $15, kids ages 6-12 $5 and kids under 5 free.
