When considering running for a town office and submitting a petition to appear on the ballot, feel free to contact a town official to become familiar with what the roles and responsibilities are for that office. Each position comes with a time commitment and duties that go along with it and it would be in your best interest to find out before you run for office and then decide if it is a good fit for you and your current schedule rather than finding out after you have been elected that you are not able to fulfill the duties of the position. Being an elected official is an honor that has been bestowed upon each official by the voters of the town.
