Mettawee Unified School Board  Organizational Meeting, Tuesday, April 10, 7:30 PM, Mettawee Community School, West Pawlet: Come early for cake at 7 PM to celebrate the new unified school district. The organizational meeting will be called to order at 7:30 by John O’Keefe from the State Board of Education. All are welcome to attend. Meeting agenda includes: election of Board officers, election of 3 BRSU Board representatives, appointment of Truant Officer, designation of posting locations and a newspaper, establishment of stipend payment dates for board officers as well as for school directors; public comment, report from the Superintendent of Schools (FY19 budgets), and a board update.

Special Event: Linda Radtke presents “Vermont’s Musical Ladies”
Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 7 PM, Pawlet Town Hall:
Singer and researcher Linda Radtke, joined by pianist Arthur Zorn, explores the contributions of Vermont women to the traditions of parlor songs, women’s club music contests, and social reform efforts. Oceana Judah, Diane Martin, Edwina Flint, and Helen Hartness Flanders represent the richness and invention of female composers included in the sheet music collection of the Vermont Historical Society.

Pawlett Historical Society, Thursday, May 10, 2018, 7 PM: Our monthly board meetings are held every second Thursday and are open to the public. From May through August we meet at the Chriss Monroe Chapel on Cemetery Hill Road in the Pawlet village center; from September through April our monthly meetings are at the Pawlet Public Library on School Street in the Pawlet village center.  

Spring Community Yoga Classes, Pawlet Town Hall: Join Lindsey Cassidy and Brooke Hughes-Muse for a 6-week yoga series March 24 – May 6 (no classes April 14, 15). Classes will be held on the second floor of the Pawlet Town Hall and are appropriate for all levels.

Healthy Meals at the Pawlet Food Pantry: Frozen prepared meals, healthy and free, are available at the food pantry for those in need every other Friday at the Pawlet Community Church, junction of Rtes. 30 & 133 in Pawlet Village. Please note pantry is open only one hour the first Friday of each month and two hours other Fridays. Unable to make it to pantry or do you know of anyone in need? We can help! Call: 802-867-2409.
