The Pawlet Planning Commission has a public hearing scheduled for January 30 at 7:00 pm to review the proposed town plan. The notice can be viewed HERE. The plan can be viewed HERE.
Town of Pawlet now accepts online payments for property tax and waste water user fees
The Town of Pawlet is happy to announce that we are now able to accept credit card and Electronic Checks for Property Tax and Waste Water User Fee Payments. Click HERE to get started with a payment or call Julie at 802-325-3309 ext. 2.
Zoning Permits
A permit is required for storage boxes and shipping containers. They are considered structures and subject to the same Zoning By-Laws as a building. If you have a storage box/shipping container on your property you must apply for a permit. An exemption is allowed if being used as temporary storage for less than one year. Questions? 2024 Annual Town & School Meeting
To coincide with 2024 Presidential Primary
March 5, 2024
Important Information
- The State of Vermont does not have a General Election in odd numbered years even though other states do
- Town & School Annual Meeting is March 5, 2024 (the same day as Vermont’s Presidential Primary)
- For the Presidential Primary ONLY, as in the past, you will be asked to choose a ballot
- Deadline to submit petitions for articles to appear on the ballot is 1/18/2024. Must have signatures of at least 5% of the registered voters. 17 V.S.A. §2642 (a)(3)(A)
- Deadline to submit nominating petitions is 1/29/2024 by 5:00 PM. Must have signatures of at least 1% of the registered voters. 17 V.S.A. § 2681 (a)
- At the start of every year, requests for early voting ballots must be made for that calendar year. Ballots are not automatically going to be mailed for these two elections (Town/School & Pres. Prim).
- Early voting ballots may be requested in person, by phone or online at https://mvp.vermont.gov/
- Register to vote in person or online at https://olvr.vermont.gov/
- General Election Ballots (November 5, 2024) WILL automatically be mailed to every eligible registered voter in the state of Vermont. You do not need to request them.

Did you know?
Traditionally sugaring season starts late February to early March, some sugaring operations are seeing sap flow as early as January or even December now – although trees aren’t producing as much at that time and the sap isn’t as sweet.

The Pawlet Planning Commission has a public hearing scheduled for January 30 at 7:00 pm to review the proposed town plan. The notice can be viewed HERE. The plan can be viewed HERE.
— February 6, starting at 5:30 p.m. — Pawlet Public Library Monthly Board Meeting
The Library Board typically meets the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. The May meeting is an exception. The meetings are open to the public; please contact the library for more information on how to join the meeting at 325-3123.
— February 6, 7:00 p.m. — Pawlet Select Board Meeting
The agenda for the next meeting will be available HERE. The Board meets every other Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Meetings are held according to the rules of procedure established by the Vermont League of Cities and Towns.
— February 14, 7:00 — Pawlett Historical Society’s Monthly Meeting
The meeting will be held via zoom. Contact Rose Smith at 802-645-0306 if you’d like to attend virtually via Zoom.
— February 20, 7:00 p.m. — Pawlet Select Board Meeting
The agenda for the next meeting will be available HERE. The Board meets every other Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Meetings are held according to the rules of procedure established by the Vermont League of Cities and Towns.
— February 26, 7:30 p.m. — Pawlet Planning Commission public hearing
The purpose of the Hearing is to adopt a revised Town of Pawlet Town Plan. The geographic area affected includes all areas of Pawlet. The agenda and the proposed town plan is available for viewing HERE.
