Land Posting Clarification
The town clerk recently received correspondence from Colonel Justin Stedman, chief warden for the VT Warden Service providing clarification on posting no trespassing signage. The letter is available for reading HERE.

The Pawlet Community Food Pantry
The Pawlet Community Food Pantry has seen a great jump in utilization since this time last year and is happily serving neighbors across the age span.  Our group of enthusiastic volunteers has continued to grow as well, with much gratitude going to Nancy Bryant for her passionate work in making all of this happen.

In this season of thanksgiving, we would also like to mention:

We applied for and were chosen to receive two grants which allowed us to purchase local foods from local farmers, and we intend to continue to look for additional grant opportunities.

The Pawlet Community Garden team remembered us during our summer distributions with fresh vegetables from right next door.  Other neighbors have generously donated eggs, produce, toiletries and money throughout the year, and it is all very much appreciated and needed.

Thank you all!

Please note the following change in distribution days over the Holiday Months.

November: 13th and 20th

December: 11th and 18th

Our hours remain 3:30-5:30 on these dates. We are located at the Pawlet Community Church.

In the event of emergency food needs, please call the Pawlet Town Office: 802-325-3309

Community Health – October Update
Who is Your PCP?
Your primary care provider (PCP) is your healthcare coach and health advocate, someone you and your family trust and turn to for health or wellness concerns, questions, and medical needs. A PCP knows your medical and family history, your personal preferences and how to coordinate the continuous preventive care you need to lead a healthy life.

Community Health’s primary care network serves the needs of our community with offices in Rutland, West Pawlet, Castleton, Shoreham, and Brandon. We are open to, and welcome, new patients at all of our practices.

For more information about Community Health’s primary care network of services, check our website chcrr.org or call our Patient Access Center at 802-779-9169.

Stay Healthy During Flu Season

The best way to avoid getting the flu is to get a flu vaccination. Flu shots are available for everyone six months and older and especially for those in high risk groups like those with chronic conditions.

You can also stop the flu virus and prevent the spread of germs by remembering these simple things:

  • Pay special attention to good hygiene. Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid contact with sick individuals.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Cover your nose when you cough and sneeze.
  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids.

Flu is especially dangerous for babies and older adults. Check with your primary care provider or pediatrician to find out where flu vaccines are available.

For more information call your Community Health primary care provider or call our Patient Access Center at 802-779-9169.

According to sales data, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are the most popular Halloween candy nationally. Vermont apparently bucks the trend with M&M’s being the top. In the past, even Hot Tamales were the supposed tops for our state. When kids are asked though? Their favorite candy is free!
