Waste Burning Ordinance

The Pawlet Community Food Pantry
The Pawlet Community Food Pantry has seen a great jump in utilization since this time last year and is happily serving neighbors across the age span.  Our group of enthusiastic volunteers has continued to grow as well, with much gratitude going to Nancy Bryant for her passionate work in making all of this happen.

Community Health – December Update
We know that getting sick has no schedule so we want you to know ahead of time when Community Health practices will be open during the holidays.  

Christmas Hours:

  • Christmas Eve all sites , including the Pharmacies, will close at 3pm. Express Care will close at 5:00pm.
  • Christmas Day all sites will be closed. Express Care will close the Castleton location, and the Rutland location will close at 3:00pm.
  • The day after Christmas will be normal operating hours.

New Year’s Hours:

  • New Year’s Eve all sites, including the Pharmacies, will close at 3:00pm. Express Care will close at 5:00pm.
  • New Year’s Day all sites will be closed. Express Care will close at 5:00pm.
  • The day after New Year’s will be normal operating hours

Express Care is open on holidays, but please take note of the locations and hours. Community Health is proud to serve our community throughout the year. Happy Holidays!

Alzheimer’s and Diabetes Support During the Holidays

Community Health Alzheimer’s and Diabetes Support groups will be meeting in December with a mission to make the holidays a joyous family time of year.

Community Health’s Alzheimer’s caregivers group meets Tuesday, December 9th and the second Tuesday of each month at 4pm at Community Health North Main St. 231 North Main St, in Rutland. Caregivers are welcome to share feelings, thoughts and experiences with other caregivers. For more information message kbathalon@chcrr.org or call 802-465 2255.

The Diabetes Support Group meets December 10 and the second Wednesday of every month. 

  • 1-2pm in Rutland at the Rutland Diabetes & Endocrinology Center
  • 5-6pm in Castleton at Castleton Community Health

Community Health and Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Diabetes & Endocrinology Center have joined together to organize this monthly meeting, a place to share your challenges and successes and questions about medication management, continuous glucose monitoring, meal planning, exercise options and holiday suggestions.  Contact our diabetes educators or your Community Health primary care provider or call 802-779-9169 for more information.

Town of Pawlet now accepts online payments for property tax and waste water user fees
The Town of Pawlet is happy to announce that we are now able to accept credit card and Electronic Checks for Property Tax and Waste Water User Fee Payments. Click HERE to get started with a payment or call Julie at 802-325-3309 ext. 2.

Did you know?
Even though it’s a colder than average week, we have brighter days ahead – literally. Less than one week of earlier sunsets before the Winter Solstice (the longest night of the year). After that, days will gradually get longer – starting with just a few seconds a day, picking up to about a minute daily by the end of December and up to three minutes a day by February 20th.
